What’s happening?

3 07 2009

BitsandpiecesUndecided what to blog about today so thought I’d do a quick update on what’s happening on a few fronts:

DONATIONS – the no.1 priority. We’ve had a real flurry of activity of late, adding more than 50 Friends of the Challenge in just a week. The total donated now stands at $12,000

TALKS – we have another $3,000 pledged by Format in return for a talk that I am doing about 7in7 at one of their client functions. If anyone else works in a company that might like to do something similar please let me know. This is potentially a great way of raising more funds.

Hmmm, not sure it will quite like this given the forecast, but here's hoping....

TRAINING - all well in body and mind I am pleased to report. Very excited to be heading south this weekend with my gorgeous wife Sally to team up with 7in7 support runner Karen Walshe so we can do some ‘live’ training on the Abel Tasman track – yeeha, I so love that part of the world!

7in7 GIVES BIRTH – yes, it was a phantom pregnancy, but without much warning we have created a small but beautifully formed addition to the family. In response to the huge number of people who have said “I’d love to get involved but can’t see myself running those distances” we have created a MINI 7in7 CHALLENGE, to be run in the Auckland area on October 18th. The emphasis is on FUNDRAISING and it is something that will appeal to all ages and all abilities, keen individuals or teams of 2-7 people. WATCH THIS SPACE – this is a wicked idea that I can’t wait to tell you more about.

Have a great weekend everybody. Take care out there. Mal
